The speed at which new materials come onto the market to adapt to trends and customer requirements is constantly increasing. New developments are expensive and not always necessary. To ensure that you remain flexible and can actively respond to changing requirements, we offer you the modification of existing plastics with appropriate additives. The customized compounds produced by twin-screw extrusion are evaluated and optimized with regard to rheological, mechanical and processing changes until the plastic fits. In addition to plastic modification, we also intensively pursue the development of novel, sustainable materials. In materials development, the focus is on generating natural-substance-based bioplastics and on processing and optimizing the properties of recycled materials.

Rapid feedback for products and processes
The testing laboratory at the KUZ is an independent materials laboratory for plastics testing. In the context of developments and optimizations, a wide variety of characteristic values are required for the material and processing behavior of plastics, which the test laboratory can provide.
