Door handle with energy self-sufficient disinfection process

Development of an applicator for the application of a disinfectant for the automatic disinfection of door handles

Door handles in public buildings and companies are used by a large number of people every day. In the process, the door handles are repeatedly contaminated with bacteria, viruses and fungi. Thus, not only in times of a pandemic, there is a high risk of infection for subsequent users.

This ZIM joint project aims to realize an immediate and safe disinfection of the door handle. This happens without additional energy supply, only by the actuation force of the handle by the user. The goal is a permanently germ-free condition of frequently used door handles.
