Integrated process optimization

Ultrasonic separation process for optical micro components

The aim of the research project is to optimize the process of ultrasonic separation of optical lenses from their component composite. To this end, the first step is to adapt the connection of the lenses to the component composite so that the geometric design is better suited to subsequent ultrasonic separation processes.

Injection molding simulations are used to match the requirements of the optimized attachment geometries and the filling behavior in the injection molding process. The ultrasonic separation process will also be improved by further developing the cutting geometries and process control and adapting them to the optimized connection.
