Surfaces under UVC stress

Investigations into the UV exposure of plastic surfaces

Due to the corona pandemic, many places are disinfected with UVC radiation. This radiation does not occur naturally on earth. It is not only dangerous for viruses, but also pollutes all organic substances and thus also plastics, which are exposed to the high-energy radiation. The aim of the project is to uncover essential relationships between the complex influence of UVC radiation in combination with everyday human exposure on plastic properties.
