RecyFoam

Upcycling of recyclates for foamed lightweight applications

The "RecySchaum" project combines the topics of recycling and foam. Thermoplastic foam injection molding is the process of choice for producing lightweight components from post-consumer recycled material. Foaming is performed with chemical and physical blowing agents as well as an additional expansion stroke.

To make the recycled material usable for demanding applications, it is modified with newly developed additives. These are intended to improve odors, emissions, mechanical properties, surface and foam characteristics.
