Resource-efficient process for new high-performance thermoplastics

The project objectives are to upscale the production of the new thermoplastic polyoxazolidinone (POX) to an industrially relevant scale and to transfer this technology to a continuous process. This will enable significant savings in resources compared to the high-performance thermoplastics currently in use.

The KUZ supports the process optimization by providing essential material data of the respective development batches of the optimization process and by determining the processing properties in injection molding. The aim is to establish POX as a possible substitute material in terms of cost and weight savings compared to commercially available high-performance plastics.
