Dynamic tempering and targeted cooling in the injection molding process

Local temperature control with thin-film heating elements

The aim of the project is to investigate a technical/technological solution for direct heating of the contact surface of the mold wall to the plastic melt. For this purpose, novel coating and structuring processes are to offer a new approach for the realization of thin-film heating elements.

As a further goal, a defined cooling by the heat extraction of the deeper lying mold structure is to be realized, which can be controlled by a regulated heat supply at the thin film heating element.
