On June 6, 2024, the symposium "PUR-Forum: Sustainability in PUR Processing" will take place at Kunststoff-Zentrum in Leipzig. This year's event will focus on the topic of sustainability, which is also becoming increasingly important in the polyurethane industry. The plastics industry has changed fundamentally in recent years: Awareness of sustainability has increased and there are greater demands for long-term environmentally friendly alternatives and technologies. Polyurethanes play an important role in the conservation of our planet's natural resources.

A multifaceted look at the topic of sustainability

In nine technical papers, experts from the polyurethane and plastics industry will address challenges, user reports and opportunities from science and practice. These presentations will focus on the topics of recycling, isocyanate-free polyurethanes, the "Green Deal" and the Particle Dosing Unit. The focus areas of LCA and digitalization will also be examined. The diversity of the main topics enables visitors to take a holistic view of the subject.

The symposium is aimed at users, processors, developers, raw material and machine manufacturers, toolmakers and anyone interested in PUR.

Change of Managing Director at KUZ

With effect from April 1, 2024, Dr. Matthias R. Jacob is the new Managing Director of Kunststoff-Zentrum in Leipzig gGmbH (KUZ). Before joining KUZ, Dr. Jacob was Chief Operating Officer at CERQ. Here, he played a leading role in the product development, design, industrial engineering and production of large energy storage systems and their components.

SPIN2030 Science Festival - Saxon research inspires

More than 50 research institutes and universities represented Saxony's excellent scientific landscape at the Technische Sammlungen Dresden on March 8 and 9, 2024. The first SPIN2030 science festival attracted 8,000 visitors, who were able to experience Saxony's wide-ranging and diverse research live on five floors, try it out and interact directly with the researchers.
